Who was he in spiritual terms? Admittedly he supported Saddam in the initial 1991 Gulf conflict, but really, what choice did he have with so many Palestinians in Jordan?

So many cliches, so much laudation, such ranting eulogistic hyperbole in the world's press, so many archon's praying hypocritically at his funeral; surely these tell us something?

Make no mistake about it, the new "king" is already a puppet held with tight strings by the US and Britain. Remember the Shah of Persia? Jordan is about to become a puppet state like Kuwait - except that many Jordanian Palestinians will revolt soon enough. There is more trouble ahead in the region.
