Feeling the heat!
According to NPR, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and Borders books who are selling the 'Protocols' have been pressured by American Jewish groups in recent weeks to cease sales of the book. After intense pressure the first two have agreed to add the recommended language stating that it is a forged fraud. Borders Books is still considering. here is the web site page for the story: 3/4 way down the page titled Book Controversy.

Iraq wants better trade ties with Yugoslavia
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq said Tuesday it wanted to expand its trade with Yugoslavia, which it praised for standing up to the West in last year's war over Kosovo.
"Iraq is keen to expand full cooperation with Yugoslavia which stood firm in the face of the American aggression," the official Iraqi News Agency quoted Vice-President Taha Yassin Ramadan as saying.
"It is our duty to resist American policy, which is aggressive, imperialist, unjust and aims to take away the rights of people everywhere," Ramadan told visiting Yugoslav Deputy Prime Minister Maja Gojkovic.
Belgrade and Baghdad enjoy good relations, in part because they are both internationally isolated and under sanctions.

Yemeni leader invites Saddam to union anniversary
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Yemen has invited Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein to attend anniversary celebrations marking the merger of north and south Yemen in May 1990, the Iraqi news agency INA said on Thursday.
It said the invitation from President Ali Abdullah Saleh was handed to Saddam by Yemeni Minister of Legal Affairs Abdullah Ahmad Ghanem.
The Yemeni envoy also advised Saddam of Saleh's desire for an Arab summit as soon as possible.
Ghanem said Yemen, a poor Arab state on the southern edge of the Arabian Peninsula, would continue to push for the lifting of U.N. sanctions imposed on Iraq for its 1990 invasion of Kuwait.

Russia, Central Asian states begin military exercise
March 30, 2000
10:58 a.m. HKT (0258 GMT)
TASHKENT, Uzbekistan (AP) -- Russia and four Central Asian states began military exercises simulating battles with rebels on Wednesday, a defense ministry spokesman said.
The Southern Shield-2000 exercises will involve one company from each country's army and are intended to improve cooperation and help Central Asian countries and Russia repel potential attacks from militants who live in the mountain areas on these states' borders, the spokesman said.
Russia is currently battling Islamic militants in Chechnya, and Kyrgyzstan repelled a minor incursion from a militant band based in Tajikistan last fall.
Troops from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakstan and Russia were practicing at Uzbekistan's Termez garrison, about 300 kilometers (180 miles) south of the capital Tashkent. The exercises are expected to last 10 days.
